Morning Joint Session:
Dr. Bruce Branham, University of Illinois – “How Much Water are You Putting in Your Spray Tank? It might be too much.”

Mr. Kris Bachtell, Morton Arboretum – “What’s new in the World of Trees”

Dr. Nick Christians, Iowa State University and Dr. Thoms, Iowa State University will be presenting a joint seminar at the GIS and STMA shows this winter on topdressing.  The presentation at Illinois will be an abbreviated version of the larger, 4 hour, seminar at GIS.  It will provide information on topdressing for both golf and sports turf and cover current research being conducted at Iowa State.

Afternoon Golf Session:
Dr. Jamal Faghihi, Purdue University-“What we know, What we See, and Treatments for Nematodes”, with superintendent roundtable discussion.

Dr. Nick Christians Description: a discussion of the biology of annual bluegrass with an emphasis on control methods for new and existing plantings.

Jesse Benelli, CDGA – “What 2017 is telling us about 2018.”

Ron Townsend, CDGA - “Reducing the severity of dollar spot epidemics through nitrogen fertilization.”

Afternoon Sports Turf Session:
Dr. Thoms, Iowa State University- “Improving Athletic Field Safety and Performance”

Dr. Bruce Branham, University of Illinois- “Controlling Annual bluegrass in Sportsturf - not as hard as you thought.”

Joel White, Toyota Park - Life on a Sports Field

Social Hour:  3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
